Ce and Nd Extraction by Cationic Exchange, Using Bentonite, Diatomite, and Eggshell—Preliminary Study

China, Vietnam, Brazil, and Russia have the largest deposits of rare earths. However, in recent works, occurrence light earth elements has been demonstrated an exhalative sedimentary type mineral (SEDEX) Mexico, with adequate Ce Nd contents. To carry out work, crushed ground SEDEX ore was leached using HCl, H2SO4, HNO3. It found best leaching results were achieved obtaining extraction 97.6% 95.7%, respectively. On other hand, case exchange, for diatomite at a 323 K 3, 99.06% 99.07% Nd.
